About this scholarship / Orange Knowledge Programme: 

The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) is a scholarship program of the Netherlands Government offered through Nuffic, the Netherlands organisation for internationalisation in education. It offers fully-funded scholarships to mid-career professionals from selected countries to follow eligible courses at accredited Dutch institutions.

The OKP scholarship is available for courses at the following levels:

• Short courses: Up to 3 months
• Medium courses: 3 to 12 months
• Long courses: More than 12 months

EligibleOKP courses cover a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, water, environment, energy, ICT, governance, and social development.

The OKP scholarship covers the following costs:

• The full tuition fee of the selected course
• An allowance for study materials
• A return ticket

Eligibility Criteria For Orange Knowledge Programme:

The OKP scholarship is open to students from all over the world. However, there are a few eligibility requirements that must be met in order to be considered for the scholarship.

To be eligible for the OKP scholarship, students must:

-Be enrolled in an accredited college or university
-Be studying a field that is related to the OKP program
-Have a strong academic record
-Demonstrate financial need
-Be committed to returning to their home country after completing their studies

How to apply

Before you apply, make sure you review the eligibility criteria carefully and check whether your employer is willing to nominate you for the scholarship.

When you are certain that you are eligible for an OKP scholarship, you can start making the necessary preparations for your application.

Follow these steps to apply:

1. First find a course or master’s programme that is eligible for the scholarship. You can find the eligible courses in our study programme database www.studyfinder.nl, specifying in the search criteria: ‘OKP qualified: Yes’.
2. Contact the Dutch higher education institution that is offering the course for information on:
  • a. the course content;
  • b. the scholarship application deadline (deadlines can differ per Dutch institution);
  • c. the scholarship application and selection procedures;
  • d. the online application form and the required application documents.
3. Prepare your application and the supporting documents1F2.
4. Submit your online application via the Dutch institution offering the course.

Deadlines of application rounds

You can only apply for a scholarship during an open application round.

The following rounds are expected for 2022:

Round 1 - for master’s and short courses
  • - Accepting applications between 2 February - 22 March 16.00 CET.
  • - Both master’s and short courses should start between 25 July and 21 November 2022.
Round 2 – for short courses
  • - Accepting applications between 11 May - 28 June 16.00 CET.
  • - Courses should start between 21 November 2022 and 20 February 2023.
Round 3 - for short courses
  • - Accepting applications between 31 August – 11 October 16.00 CET.
  • - Courses should start from 20 February 2023 onward and must be completed before 31 August 2023.

Deadlines per institution

Please note that educational institutions may set a shorter deadline for application. Please consult your educational institution for the exact deadlines.
